Prices are continuing to rise, so you should check out this list of 4 things that will cost more in 2011.
– Groceries. The Department of Agriculture says there will be a 2-3% increase in the cost of food, mainly because the cost of corn and soybeans are going up.
– Clothing. The cost of clothing has been decreasing for the last 10 years, but now with the cost of cotton 80% higher than it was at the beginning of 2010, expect some cost increases in the range of 10% this year. Either that, or the quality will drop.
– College. Every year it seems the cost of tuition increases and this year will be no different. The cost of tuition at most 4-year universities is up about 5% for private schools and 8% for public schools.
– Gas. Of course gas prices are going to increase in 2011, who wouldn’t expect that? They might increase so much, that the former president of Shell Oil said we could see gas prices as high as $5 per gallon by the end of 2011. It’s already ranging from $3.09 to $3.15 here in Pittsburgh. Let’s hope he’s wrong.
