Britney Spears released the video for “Hold It Against Me” yesterday to great fanfare. With more than 30 singles behind her, she’s still got the press talking – but how are listeners responding?

Last.fm Trends is looking into Spears’ scrobbles on Last.fm to see if she’s managed to break her own records.

Whilst the track’s too new to have entered into her six-month chart, last week’s gives us a pretty good indication of its success. Previous chart-topper “Womanizer” took two weeks to top her charts, whereas “Hold It Against Me” leapt from 0 to 25,191 listeners in just seven days in January – a pretty impressive acceleration rate.
