Last.fm Trends: “Glee” Cast Members Try Their Own Tunes
The top five tracks over the past six months are a varied bunch, the power of Glee clearly shown by bringing hits from the ’80s (“Don’t Stop Believin'”) and the ’60s (“Don’t Rain On My Parade”) to a young audience, along with covers of contemporary songs. With viewers latching on to music they may not have previously heard, it seems a good bet that original compositions will be a hit.
“Loser Like Me” has Max Martin as a production credit: with previous work on Kelly Clarkson‘s “My Life Would Suck Without You” and Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream”, he’s already contributed considerably to Glee’s canon and shouldn’t take things too far into the unknown.
Meanwhile, “Get It Right” is a ballad sung solo by Lea Michele – much like Barbra Streisand‘s “Don’t Rain On My Parade.” If they can capitalize on her solo popularity, the track should reach the higher end of Glee’s charts.
