Daniel Radcliffe has been involved with the Trevor Project since 2009 and will receive the Hero Award.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Radcliffe will receive the Hero Award from the Trevor Project, which provides crisis support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youths.  Daniel Radcliffe has been appearing in their PSAs since 2009.

Radcliffe told the Associated Press, “It’s fantastic. The fact that they think of what I’ve done by promoting awareness of the Trevor Project itself and the issues that it works to promote and help is a great honor.”

“The people that are doing the heroic things are the people answering phones 24 hours a day in the Trevor call centers,” he added. “I think that out of everything that I’ve done so far in my career, I think this is absolutely one of the most important, if not the most important, thing that I’m associated with.”
