You never forget your first. First kiss; first flirtation; first boyfriend. And when it comes to boy bands, women almost never forget their first boy band crush, whether that was blonde-cute [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Taylor Hanson[/lastfm] from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Hanson[/lastfm], dimpled darling [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jordan Knight[/lastfm] from[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] New Kids On The Block[/lastfm] or hot-stepping heart-throb, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Justin Timberlake[/lastfm] from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]*NSYNC[/lastfm].

If you need something to giggle and reminisce over at work, we’ve highlighted our Top Ten Favorite Boy Bands From Back In The Day.

10. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]LFO[/lastfm]

Pop/rap trio, LFO, wasn’t very popular aside from their one-hit wonder “Summer Girls” that basically every radio station had in perpetual rotation the summer of 1999.

But the members of the LFO had that heart melty eye-cheekbone combination that was required of most boy bands, their song eluded to the boy bands of the “good old days,” and they liked to wander around on the beach with girls in Abercrombie and Fitch–the clothing line of choice in 1999 if you wanted to look hot.

Devastatingly good-looking Irish pop four-piece, Boyzone, were probably one of the most masculine “boy bands” of the craze and were incredibly famous in the United Kingdom.

The group churned out hit after hit, but as music fans from the United States, we mostly just remember their gorgeous faces plastered all over music magazines. And that was good enough for us.

Not many people remember this slighty-cheesy R&B group from Oklahoma by name, but if you start singing one of their tunes to a random stranger, they will probably say: “I remember that song! That was my jam.”

Color Me Badd had a guy that looked like Kenny G, a guy that looked like George Michael, and a whole lot of that contrived early-90s Latin flair. Our favorite part about Color Me Badd (and the part that made them crush-worthy in our books) was their hilariously awesome lyrics.

Another Irish pop group, Westlife were one of the first boy bands to be signed and discovered by Simon Cowell of American Idol fame. They were constantly compared to Boyzone, but probably had more of an international appeal with their single “Swear It Again.”

Looking at them and Boyzone, we have come to one conclusion: Irish men age extraordinarily well. We’ll have to remember that next time we decide to drool over a foreign boy.

English five-piece boy band, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Take That[/lastfm], has been around since 1990, reuniting after nine years in 2005. Famous all over the world, Take That was also the musical hub for breakaway superstar and loveable bad boy, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Robbie Williams[/lastfm].

We’d be lying if we didn’t admit to Williams being the fuel to our white picket-fence fantasies…and then some.

We can’t for the life of us name anyone else in 98 Degrees except Nick Lachey, but we remember seeing them live in 2000 and thinking they were so, so cute. Especially Lachey. Those dimples; that smile; those muscles.

At the time, Lachey epitomized everything the world deemed a hot pop commodity. Heck, even now we’d take him at his grungiest.

Pop brothers, Hanson, made their break-out hit “Mmm Bop” when they were still considered children. At a time when their was no Justin Bieber, their youth made them somewhat of a rare commodity, but they were the perfect crushes for pre-teen girls.

While they were somewhat awkward, yet still adorable during the “Mmm Bop” days, the Hanson brothers have grown up to be three incredibly dashing young men.

Really, Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC are on a equal level when it comes to popularity and attractiveness. They were both five incredibly different looking guys: one was the heart-throb, two with goatees, the shy one with the soul patch, and the quirky one.

Backstreet Boys are amazing (and maybe a more danceable band) but they were missing one key component that kept them from being at our number two slot: [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Justin Timberlake[/lastfm].

2. *NSYNC

Whether you were a rocker girl, a cheerleader, of an Algebra nerd, you probably listened to *NSYNC–even if it was in secret. Like the Backstreet Boys, there was just something about this ragtag bunch of cuties that made us believe there was someone out there that could love us–and maybe do a choreographed dance with us in faded sparkly jeans.

Plus, there was Justin Timberlake. Everyone knew there was star potential in that curly-coiffed boy-next-door.

1. New Kids On The Block

Admittedly, as second graders, we don’t remember being huge fans of New Kids On The Block when they were popular. We only remember telling all our friends that we “really liked Jonathan Knight,” but don’t remember exactly why.

However, our teen-aged cousins would cut out all their pictures from Tiger Beat and Teen Heat and pin them to their ceilings. Girls would gush over New Kids On The Block like they were [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Beatles[/lastfm].

Re-watching and listening to all the old New Kids On The Block songs, we understand why. Not only were they most talented (musically and dance-wise) of the bunch, they were also the most undeniably adorable. New Kids On The Block had that special charm of actually looking like that cute kid on our block that made us blush, but that we were too scared to approach.
