‘The Voice’ Has Huge Premiere & ‘Glee’ Sinks To New Low
The new NBC singing competition, The Voice premiered last night to huge ratings while Glee sets a season low.
After talking up The Voice for the last several weeks, it figures, I am the one person who forgot to set my DVR to record it! I’ll have to catch it on NBC’s website. A lot of people did watch the show, it had a 5.1 rating in the demographic that advertisers love, 18-49, and 11.8 million viewers overall. That makes it the biggest premiere on any network since CBS’ Undercover Boss premiered after the 2010 Super Bowl.
The show features [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine [/lastfm]from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Maroon 5[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Christina Aguilera[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blake Shelton[/lastfm] and even beat out Dancing With The Stars and Glee in the ratings.
Glee promoted their [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] Born This Way episode heavily, but the show was down over 11% from week to week.
The Twitterverse was blowing up with people talking about The Voice last night, so if you watched, what did you think?
