[photogallerylink id=13483 align=left]Mama Monster is not only a world figure of pop power, she also speaks the universal language of music. Oh, and a little Spanish too.
Last night, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] took to the stage in at the Estadio Tres de Marzo in Guadalajara, Mexico and unleashed her Spanish-flavored power ballad called “Americano” from upcoming album Born This Way on her Mexican monsters.
On her fan site, Gaga Daily, Gaga describes the song as:
…a big mariachi techno-house record, where I am singing about immigration law and gay marriage and all sorts of things that have to do with disenfranchised communities in America. It sounds like a pop record, but when I sing it, I see Edith Piaf in a spotlight with an old microphone.
We definitely hear a lot of[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Edith Piaf[/lastfm] which is frankly odd for a pop artist. But if anyone could fuse the classical and the modern, it would be Lady Gaga. That dame is not afraid of anything.
Apparently, her audience in Mexico was truly outrageous and rocked their mother in all the ways she loves.
- What do you think of “Americano?” Too much like Edith Piaf meets ’90s Latin pop or do you heart it? Let us know in the comments!
