While Harper was working on his massively successful fifth studio effort, 2003’s Diamonds on the Inside, and being heralded as Artist Of The Year by French Rolling Stone, he was also flexing his political and social muscle by playing shows for Moveon.org called Vote for Change and working on a live recording of the song “Oppression” which was featured on For The Lady–a benefit album for imprisoned Burmese Nobel Peace Prize winner  Aung San Suu Kyi.

Since 2003, Harper has recorded several more albums, including 2006’s smash Australian hit, Both Sides of the Gun (with the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Innocent Criminals[/lastfm]), 2007’s Lifeline and 2009’s White Lies for Dark Times with the band [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Relentless7[/lastfm].
