NBC’s new fall show, The Playboy Club isn’t getting any love from at least one NBC affiliate.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the affiliate to NBC is KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are refusing to air NBC’s new show this fall, citing objectionable content.
KSL President & CEO, Mark Willes said, “The Playboy brand is known internationally. Everyone is clear what it stands for. We want to be sure everyone is clear what the KSL brand stands for, which is completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand.”
The station is owned by Deseret Media Companies, which is controlled by the Mormon Church. They say their mission is to, “champion values that have been cherished by good people from diverse backgrounds for centuries.”
NBC released a statement saying, “While we are disappointed with KSL’s decision, we are confident that the show will find another home in the Salt Lake City market.”
Will you watch the show when it premieres in September?
