Multi-platinum-selling rock band [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Incubus[/lastfm] is set to take over the Ed Sullivan Theater on July 11 for an exclusive Live on Letterman full concert webcast. The band behind such massive hits as “Drive,” “Anna Molly,” and “Love Hurts” is set to release a brand new album, If Not Now, When?, on July 12, and to celebrate, will perform a free concert webcast the night before on the famous New York stage. The music kicks off at 9pm Eastern (6pm Pacific) and you can watch it right here or on CBS.com.
Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger and Jose Pasillas formed Incubus in 1991. Chris Kilmore later joined in 1998, with Ben Kenney following in 2003. The band recorded its debut Fungus Amongus in 1995 on an indie label, followed by two years later by S.C.I.E.N.C.E., which became their first gold record (even the uberhip music site Pitchfork called the album “yummy”).
The band’s major breakthrough, however, came in 1999 with the singles “Pardon Me,” “Stellar” and “Drive” from their third album, the double-platinum selling Make Yourself.
[pullquote quote=”Incubus isn’t just a band to me. Incubus is magic.” credit=”Nicole Alvarez, KROQ”] All told Incubus has sold more than 13 million albums worldwide in its two decade career. The group’s recordings have earned them a total of 13 Top 10 Rock hits, with four singles debuting at Number One. Not bad for a bunch of guys who first formed the band while only in tenth grade.
