Joe Jonas Announces Live On Letterman Streaming Concert
Joe Jonas has just announced he will be the next in a long line of storied artists to perform on the groundbreaking series Live on Letterman. Jonas will stream a full concert live from New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater online and on-air Monday, August 22nd at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT.
When 22-year-old singer and actor, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Joe Jonas[/lastfm], started his music career at the tender age of sixteen, it was by accident after his brother Nick tried to get a record deal. A record label exec saw the marketability of the brothers as a trio and, from there, a star was born.
Six years later, Joe has become both a recognized singer and an international “teen heart-throb,” ready to showcase his skills in a different, more mature way with his burgeoning solo career. Now let’s take a look at Joe’s meteoric rise to fame, year-by-year.
- Columbia Records’ president, Steve Greenberg listens to Nick Jonas’ record. He doesn’t like record, but likes “Please Be Mine” which is performed by all three Jonas Brothers.
- The three are signed as group act.
- The Jonas Brother’s first album on Columbia, It’s About Time, is released on August 8, 2006.
- Due to a “limited release,” the album only sold a little over 50,000 copies.
