You may know her as the “girl with a smile” in the Eat ‘N Park commercials. Her name is actually Sarah Marince and she grew up in Moon Township but lives in Nashville now. She not only appears in the commercials, she sings the “place for smiles” jingle. You know the one. You may have even heard her song, “In The Meantime” on our sister station Y108.
I caught up with her at last Saturday’s Pittsburgh Power football game in the Consol Energy Center where she sang the National Anthem and the halftime show. Though I’m partial to Jeff Jimerson’s anthem singing – he’s the one you hear at most Pittsburgh Penguins hockey games – Sarah is my new second favorite. As a matter of fact, it almost sounds like Sarah took a page out of Jeff’s book on how to sing the anthem – with respect and pace and never over-sung. Oh, and Sarah has had a turn or two singing in front of a Penguins crowd herself.
Sarah’s next stop, the Washington Wild Things game this Thursday, May 10th, for MS night! 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Now the next time you see the “girl with a smile” on an Eat ‘N Park commercial, you can impress your family and friends with your knowledge of “Sarah Marince”. And look Ma, no google.
