Pirate Baseball & Pittsburgh Loving It All
What a great way to spend a Sunday in Pittsburgh yesterday. At the Bucs game! Especially since it was Kids day and the Bucs are 11 games ABOVE 500 headed into the All Star break. Yep..I said ABOVE.
How great is the buzz on our Pirate baseball team? Pittsburgher’s yesterday were out in full force to root on our team and what really made me smile was seeing all the families there. Granted it WAS kids day and there was face painting and bounce houses and free Eat N Park giveaways & balloon making & more! But, the families were also there to cheer on our amazing team. Here is Federal Street BEFORE it got packed!
It was so much fun seeing families bond together over the Buccos! Almost every single person I saw had Pirate gear on too. Hats. Shirts. Socks.
When we got inside the game yesterday it was a see of Black and Gold and this time not for our Steelers or Penguins, but for our PIRATES!
The chants every time MLB start Andrew McCutchen came to bat was MVP..MVP..MVP! Sweet! The Pirates beat the Giants 13-2 and the kids that made it to the end of the game got to run the bases. Kids also got free intertubes for the pool as the giveaways.
You can watch Andrew tonight at 8pm on ESPN as he participates with the Home Run Derby during the All Star break. He will also be taking part in the All Star game.
Walking across the Clemente bridge heading back to our car I took this picture. Just seeing PNC Park and all the fans and boaters on the river made me realize that there is NO better place to live. There is also NO better city of sports than Pittsburgh.
