Are you ready for some football? As Anaheim rock heroes No Doubt continue their much-anticipated return to the music world, it’s been announced that Gwen Stefani and the gang will be part of the NFL’s annual season-starting Kickoff celebration.

Taking place on Wednesday, September 5, No Doubt will perform alongside new American Idol judge Mariah Carey during the pregame ceremonies before last season’s Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants, take on the Dallas Cowboys at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. The hour-long pregame event will be televised on NBC starting at 7:30 p.m. EST.

No Doubt has history with the National Football League, performing as part of the halftime show during Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003. Drummer Adrian Young is also a fan of the New Orleans Saints, and is reportedly “excited” to be a part of the 2012 Kickoff match-up.
