After debuting new music live at their concert at SXSW last week, Vampire Weekend have revealed their first single, “Diane Young.”
The band performed at Stubb’s BBQ on the last night of the music festival, peppering the late-night set with two new songs (the aforementioned “Diane Young” and “Ya Hey”) from their upcoming third album, Modern Vampires of the City, due out May 7th.
The studio version of “Diane Young” premiered simultaneously during Zane Lowe’s radio show on BBC 1 and Kat Corbett’s program on KROQ, Los Angeles.
The band also took to their Twitter feed to announce the release of the tune as part of a double A-side single, which will also feature new track “Step.”

They released a lyric video for this song too.
Vampire Weekend have announced a handful of U.S. tour dates in support of the new album, including an appearance at this year’s Coachella festival in Indio, CA, next month.
The band’s lead singer, Ezra Koenig, is also featured on the recently-revealed new song from producer Diplo‘s act Major Lazer, “Jessica.” The second full-length Major Lazer album, Free the Universe, is slated for release on April 16 in America.
