It is Earth Day and what a great way to celebrate SO much around you.  Let’s start with some great FREE Earth day green fun.  There is a whole weekend of fun activities at the Frick Environmental Center on Beechwood Blvd.  It is a campfire from 6-9pm with FREE fire sticks, marshmallows and a cup for cider!  On April 19th..  look at the scoop here.

On April 20th at Lower Frick Parking lot from 9am-1pm you can volunteer and help with hands on TREE planting.  You do have to pre register, but look here for the info.

On April 21st if you love nature and love nature walks, you will love this day from noon until 3pm with every walk having a special theme!  Look here at their website for all the information.

IKEA has so much going on and so much FREE!  They are actually having a contest on twitter.  You could possibly win a $50 IKEA card.  They are looking for earth day twitter pictures and will be choosing them over the weekend and picking a winner on April 22nd.  All you need to know is here.

For the kids IKEA will have you draw up some pictures in Smaland and the restaurant and you will turn them in and get a FREE treat!    There is also FREE food samples that are organic and they happen from 1-4pm.  Look here.

Many towns near you are celebrating earth day and cleaning up and even planting trees!  Heidlberg, Carnegie, Neville and Scott all FREE and fun.  Make sure you check their websites for the certain sign up times.  You can plant trees, eat donuts, pick up trash and keep your towns beautiful and clean!  Look here.

If you live in Butler County there is a FREE event of recycling for you.  It is electronic.  It usually costs something to the consumer, but this one is FREE!  The Boy Scout troop of Mars and Eloop have joined forces.  Eloop is a Pittsburgh based electronics recycle center.  IT IS FREE and open to the public, but there are some restrictions on what devices will be accepted.  If you need to know more about this April 20th event from 10am until 4pm at the Adams Shoppes look here.

Have you heard of the tireless project?  FREE light pizza lunch and you must register too. There is a cleanup happening at Carrie Furnace property on April 20th at 9am until 1pm.  Volunteers must be 12-18 years old and must be with an adult.  If you complete the whole day of volunteering you will get a voucher for one FREE admission to ONE of the 2013 group tour opps by Rivers of Steel.  Look here.

If you have ANY old t-shirts you can recycle them at Michael’s with a FREE class on April 20th from 1-3pm.  Check the info here.

Target is giving away a whopping 1.5 million in FREE shopping bags on Sunday, April 21st from 10am until supplies go!  This is a national deal.  Look here.
