Today is “Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Day!”
A day to “celebrate Fred Rogers and the values of love and neighborliness he strove to instill in young hearts during the course of his long career.”
One of my favorite quotes from Fred…
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was by far a favorite of mine growing up. Mr. Rogers is a Pittsburgh icon how could you not appreciate this great man?! He taught me how to tie my shoes!
You can check out this sweet Mister Rogers Neighborhood exhibit at the Childrens Museum!
