The world has lost one of the most gentle, kind and funny men of all time. We are all mourning the loss of Robin Williams today. He was found dead in his home yesterday, an apparent suicide. His wife Susan issued a statement saying, “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world has lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken.” She went on to ask everyone to remember him for the laughter he brought the world, not the way his life ended.
Williams first became known for his role in the TV series Mork and Mindy back in 1978. But there were so many roles in between: Good Morning Vietnam, Alladdin, Good Will Hunting, Hook, Fisher King, Dead Poet’s Society, Happy Feet and OF COURSE! Mrs. Doubtfire. See some of the best scenes here….The list goes on. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor three times and won Best Supporting Actor for Good Will Hunting. He also won two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammy Awards.
