Celine Dion released a powerful cover of Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” today (May 20). The song features electric violinist Lindsey Stirling.

The rock ballad comes in advance of Dion’s performance at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, when she’ll perform it live with Stirling. Dion keeps much of the original song’s feel–replete with heady strings–but her vocal power creates an added dramatic layer.

Dion has been busy with her Las Vegas residency, and this fall will reach her 1,000th show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. It’s been an emotional year so far for Dion, whose husband passed away on January 14. Her cover of “The Show Must Go On” in many ways feels like an encouraging message for the world as well as herself.
