Social media can be a forum for beefs and a platform to brag, and now Rihanna and Missy Elliott are hoping it will also serve as a vehicle to help finding a missing person. Both pop stars hit Instagram on Monday night (Oct. 24) to let their fans know that accomplished dancer Shirlene Quigley has gone missing.
Quigley, who performed in Rihanna’s “S.O.S.” video and joined her onstage several times, urged fans to help locate the dancer, who disappeared early Sunday morning. Rihanna posted a video on Instagram of Quigley, a resident of North Bergen, New Jersey.
“This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!!,” Rihanna wrote. “My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her! If anyone has seen or has any information on@shirlenequigley’s whereabouts …..PLEASE CONTACT the North Bergen Police Department 201 392 2100 !!!!”
Elliott posted a collage of photos of Quigley and included a plea to her fans. “If you have any information please come forward. Please share and help us find her!! #shirlenequigley amazing SWEET CARING SPIRIT who is LOVED by MANY! I NEED YALL TO REPOST get this info out there!” she wrote. “Please help with any information.”
A 32-year-old professional dance teacher at Peridance Capezio Center and Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan, Quigley was last seen Saturday night around 12:55 a.m. at Port Authority bus terminal. She was wearing a pink jacket and heels. Her cell phone was later discovered at a bridal shop in Chelsea.
Quigley’s father told police he became concerned when he didn’t hear from his daughter who always called at 6 p.m. A car that may have been Quigley’s 2006 Silver Mercedes C230 was towed from a location in Midtown Manhattan, Billboard reports.
Aside from working with Rihanna, Quigley has performed with Beyonce and Jamie Foxx and appeared in numerous awards shows and commercials.
