The Mummy movie franchise is getting a reboot starring Tom Cruise.
Over the weekend, the first full-length trailer was released giving fans a taste of what lies ahead when the film hits theaters next summer.
According to the film’s website, the premise of the movie is this:
“Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.”
The action-packed trailer has almost no dialog for the first 2 minutes until a voice can be heard saying, “Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters,” just as the ancient princess appears on screen.
The cast of “The Mummy,” in addition to Cruise, includes Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. It’s scheduled to open in thearers on June 9, 2017.
